How did Alabama fail against Oklahoma?

How did Alabama fail against Oklahoma?

What was supposed to have been a easy game for the alabama crimson tide became a nightmare  for the tide but how did they get to this point? well lets get in to it!

Oklahoma Defense

The sooners came in to the game doing their homework limiting jalen mileroe but altogether styming that alabama run game to give you perspective Alabama ran for 219 yards against lsu (mileroe miller and haynes combined) and with the sooners coming in to this game after a emotional year of losses and with it being senior day the sooners played with pride in their hearts

Alabamas ups and downs

this game was a case study on the up and down year the tide has had the tide came in to this game needing to make a statement win (at the time of this writing alabama is projected to make the 12 team playoff)
but lets raise the question what if Alabama sneaks' in? what do the need to change to win a national title?

  • a focused running game
  • return to the alabama of old and run the ball through the tackles most teams expect the tide to throw on first and second down distribute the ball to miller and haynes let them get the yards that are needed then take the defense off with a deep shot
  • mileroe must use his legs and arms but he must get the ball to his playmakers

Playoff hopes

Alabama has chaos on their side given that several top 20 teams went down winding the playoff race (see our college football roundup)  the tide has a shot a faint shot but a shot nontheless to rewrite history and make this a year worth remembering

Coffee break with nate your college football roundup

 College football roundup for 11/24/24

it was upset week in week 13 has the college football world is on a collision course with the 12 team playoff and destiny lets get it in to it

 CHAOS

several top 10 teams fell this week leading to questions and and concerns

starting off texas a&m(8-3)  Alabama (9-3) Colarado,(8-3) and Byu(9-2) all got upset leading for each team to have some chaos coming in to rivalry week Alabama needs to beat Auburn and georgia to loose in the sec title game against texas to even stand a chance to get in to the college football playoff  likewise with byu, Colorado, both need a shot of beating  utah, and csu going in to week 14 (rivalry week)

Playoff hopes

Alabama needs a bit of help from other teams and  from  the college football playoff comittee

only team out side of the teams that have been mentioned that still controls their destiny is byu (9-2)

but even then if they loose to utah its in the hands of the cfp comittee to help them eek out a worthwile season

College football playoff criteria

Lets have a refresher of what the comittee looks at

  • The 12 participating teams will be the five conference champions ranked highest by the CFP selection committee, plus the next seven highest-ranked teams.

  • The ranking of the teams will continue to be done by a selection committee.

  • The four highest-ranked conference champions will be seeded one through four and will receive a first-round bye. The fifth conference champion will be seeded where it was ranked or at No. 12 if it is outside the top 12 rankings. Non-conference champions ranked in the top four will be seeded beginning at No. 5. Because of this, the seeding, 1 through 12, could look different than the final rankings.

  • The eight teams seeded No. 5-12 will play in a first round with the higher seeds hosting the lower seeds either on campus or at other sites designated by the higher-seeded institution (No. 12 at No. 5, No. 11 at No. 6, No. 10 at No. 7 and No. 9 at No. 8.).

breakdown Alabama Vs Oklahoma (6:30pm)

breakdown Alabama vs  Oklahoma

Alabama comes in to this game with 3 weeks of perfect from shutting down mizzou to dismantling lsu to dominating mercer it looks like the tide is finally peaking when they need to peak for this college football play off run with 2 more hurdles to go Alabama is poised to make a historic run  in the inaugural 12 team playoff later in December but before we can think of that let us focus on the game in front of us

breakdown

over the past 4 weeks Alabama has played incredible football and finally looking comfortable in DeBoer's system and jalen mileroe is picking up where he left off earlier in the year with the Georgia game but Alabama is coming in to this game with 3 guys out to be held to get healthy for next weeks Iron bowl and those are : keon sabb (db)  cole adams (wr)  que Robinson (lb)

but on the flipside  the sooner comes in incredibly broken from most of their starting starting offense out for the game but the question is can the sooners stand up to the firepower that the tide will bring? it looks highly suspect that they wont and history has not been kind to the sooners  in recent years  last time  these two teams met was 2018 orange bowl in the cfp semifinal with the score 45-34. but lets speak on injures

injuries

like we have spoken before Alabama will be without 3 men keon sabbs, cole adams, que Robinson,

with Oklahoma having 5 of their starters out leaving a big hole in that Oklahoma offense allowing alabama to tee off on  Oklahoma offensive snaps

additional thoughts :

Alabama comes in to this game as a 14 point favorite thats the biigest point margin that the sooners have faced in a regular season game

jalen mileroe is finally looking comfortable in that deboer offense and getting comfortable with nick sheridans playcalling

with the college football playoff race heating up Alabama is playing amazing football

SkyArc College Football Social Media Moves to BlueSky, Parting Ways with Twitter

SkyArc College Football Social Media Moves to BlueSky, Parting Ways with Twitter

In a major shift in the landscape of sports media, **SkyArc College Football**—a growing part of collegiate football coverage—is making a strategic pivot in its social media operations. As of this season, SkyArc has announced its decision to transition its primary social media presence from Twitter (now X) to **BlueSky**, the emerging platform that has caught the attention of athletes, fans, and tech enthusiasts alike. This move marks a significant turning point for both SkyArc and the broader sports media industry, as it highlights a growing trend among organizations to reevaluate their social media platforms in the wake of uncertainty surrounding Twitter's future.

 Why the Move to BlueSky?

The decision for SkyArc College Football to leave Twitter (now rebranded as X) in favor of BlueSky is a multi-faceted one, driven by both technological and philosophical considerations.

1. Uncertainty Surrounding Twitter (X)**

Since Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter in 2022, the platform has undergone a series of significant changes, from adjustments in content moderation to the introduction of a paid subscription model. Many sports organizations, including SkyArc, have expressed concerns over the platform's stability, user experience, and ability to maintain a safe, reliable environment for their fanbase. The volatility surrounding Twitter’s future, coupled with ongoing controversies, made it a less appealing option for SkyArc’s long-term digital strategy.

2.BlueSky’s Vision of Decentralized, Open-Source Social Media**

BlueSky, founded by former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, offers a vision for a decentralized, community-driven social media experience. With its focus on user privacy, free speech, and less algorithmic control, BlueSky’s ethos aligns closely with SkyArc's desire to create a more authentic and engaged fan experience. BlueSky’s framework, which gives users greater control over their data and the content they see, offers a stark contrast to the data-driven algorithms of more traditional social media giants.

3. **A Growing Fan Base on BlueSky**

Over the past year, BlueSky has seen a steady growth in both individual users and organizations across various industries. As it builds momentum, the platform has become a more attractive space for sports fans, influencers, and teams to connect with their audiences. By establishing a presence early on BlueSky, SkyArc is positioning itself at the forefront of this growing digital ecosystem, hoping to foster deeper engagement and build a loyal community.

What This Means for SkyArc College Football

1. **Enhanced Fan Engagement**

SkyArc’s decision to leave Twitter and embrace BlueSky is not just about following trends—it’s about reimagining how the organization interacts with its fans. With fewer distractions from algorithmic sorting and a more fluid, decentralized communication model, SkyArc aims to foster closer interactions with its audience. The platform’s focus on community and conversations rather than viral algorithms means fans will have more direct access to updates, game analysis, player interviews, and behind-the-scenes content.

2. **A Shift Towards Visual and Interactive Content**

BlueSky, unlike Twitter, places a greater emphasis on multimedia sharing and interactive content, something SkyArc plans to take full advantage of. Expect to see more high-quality game highlights, behind-the-scenes footage, and exclusive interviews with coaches and players. Interactive features, such as live Q&A sessions and fan polls, will help build a more dynamic, participatory relationship between SkyArc College Football and its followers.

3. Fostering a Positive, Inclusive Online Community**

One of the major reasons for leaving Twitter is the platform's growing issues with harassment and hate speech, which have plagued many users, including sports teams and athletes. BlueSky’s more stringent content moderation policies and commitment to building healthier online spaces aligns with SkyArc’s goals of creating a safe and welcoming environment for its diverse fanbase.

Impact on the Broader Sports Media Landscape

SkyArc College Football’s shift to BlueSky is a part of a broader trend within the sports world as teams, leagues, and organizations begin to reassess their relationships with social media platforms. Following similar moves by individual athletes and other institutions, SkyArc is taking a bold step in prioritizing community-building over sheer engagement metrics. As BlueSky continues to develop, it could potentially offer a model for other sports media outlets and brands seeking alternatives to Twitter’s often chaotic atmosphere.

This transition also speaks to the larger conversations surrounding social media’s role in sports culture. Platforms like Twitter were once a go-to for breaking news, live interactions, and fan engagement, but their chaotic nature, combined with increasing concerns over privacy, security, and toxic interactions, has made them less appealing to organizations aiming to maintain a professional and positive public image.

What’s Next for SkyArc on BlueSky?

As SkyArc begins its migration to BlueSky, fans can expect several exciting developments in the coming months. The college football organization is already planning an array of exclusive digital content, live event coverage, and fan engagement initiatives that will leverage the platform’s unique features. For those familiar with SkyArc’s extensive content on Twitter, this shift will likely feel seamless, but with an emphasis on more personalized and meaningful interactions.

The transition will also provide SkyArc the opportunity to experiment with new forms of storytelling, utilizing BlueSky’s decentralized nature to connect with various communities of fans who share a passion for college football. Whether it’s through specialized fan groups, player-focused content, or live interaction with coaches and analysts, SkyArc intends to make BlueSky not just a platform for broadcast, but a space for deeper conversation and community building.

 Conclusion

SkyArc College Football’s move from Twitter to BlueSky marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of sports media on social platforms. The shift signals a growing desire among organizations to prioritize quality over quantity, community over chaos, and engagement over viral trends. As BlueSky continues to evolve, it could well become the go-to platform for sports coverage, fostering a healthier, more engaged online environment for fans and organizations alike. For SkyArc, it’s a step toward a more meaningful and sustainable future in the ever-changing world of digital media.

CFP THOUGHTS AND HEALTH OF SPORT

CFP THOUGHTS AND HEALTH OF SPORT

With the cfp race heating up its important to realize in this new age of college football that this is the first time that a 12 team has been utilized in college football but how can we make it better? not expansion no i believe in refinement of the committees ruleset from the 4 team format and expand that to 12 teams but we must strive to make this better for everyone  involved and that is important from the ADs to the staff to the players so lets talk refinement.

Refinement

in the 12 team playoff  strength of schedule must play a part who you play, when you play, how you play,
that must be important and in this day and age playoff teams are getting stronger in all levels from division  1 and 2 levels and they are ever evolving and playcalling is also evolving  in this present age and that calls for refinement for college football playoff and for the sport as a whole

How will teams perform in the 12 team playoffs?

i see teams getting better across cfb from the division 1 and 2 and this is good for college football as a whole  and thats good for fans and programs and everyone involved and everyone wins and the sport as a whole and that we must strive for that constantly in this constant age of NIL and the 12 team format and we must constantly refine till we make this better

Conclusion

when the sport is doing well we do better as fans, staff, and school administration and we like what was discussed before we must refine this for the betterment of the sport and how we can make it better in this age of 12 team playoffs and nil and social media and we must stay at the forefront

LSU WOES

The tigers came in to this game struggling against mobile quarterbacks like marcel reed (a&m) and seller at south Carolina but how did lsu do? with gerret nussmier went 27/42 239 yds with 2 interceptions but that is only the part of the story coming in to this game it always came down to a line of scrimmage game alabama was physical, violent, intentional Saturday evening showing that 4-2-5 swarm defense in all of its glory
